Welcome to Hurricane Harry's Place...

NEW: Added page on How big is Harry....
Harry is a wee opossum that was rescued by students in Calvert County, MD.

Sadly he was all alone and unable to care for him self. When he was found he weighed about the same as 8 nickels or 40 grams. ( A nickel weighs 5 grams).

He was taken in at Opals Place, a wild life rescue, and placed in an incubator. He remained there until he was big enough to live in larger quarters.

He has made wonderful progress, gaining weight and growing fast.

At a certain point, he will be released back into the wild where he will live out the rest of his adult life as an awesome possum!

Harry having his lunch, a special liquid formula that is like his momma milk. It is a special mix and not like cow milk. Please do not feed baby wildlife cow milk, it can kill them. Get them to a rehaber and they will feed them the right formula.
Harry outgrew his incubator and got moved into his new condo unit. Here he can practice his climbing and balance skill and will learn to real opossum food.
Harry settled right in his new condo in no time at all.

He finally tunneled into his bedding and took a nap. Notice his well formed paws with his "thumb".
